It all started with late night bourbons at an ad agency convention in Palm Springs.

Mississippi advertising guru Philip Shirley struck up a conversation with Tom Sullivan, CEO of Princeton Partners in Princeton, New Jersey. Shared philosophies on advertising soon led to a friendship based on mutual respect and a healthy admiration for each other’s work.

Fast forward roughly 30 years.

An unexpected opportunity to turn a friendship into a partnership arose. The friends seized the opportunity, along with partners Kevin Kuchinksi, Jeff Russell and Lauren Mozingo. After five caffeine-fueled days and nights of planning, strategizing and agonizing, Ad5 was officially incorporated in Mississippi on December 9, 2024.

Within a week, the new agency had a roster of clients eager to come aboard. Ad5 came right out of the gate with a staff built around a Mississippi team that had worked together for decades. That team was immediately elevated by joining forces with the group from Princeton Partners.

Together, the Ad5 team brings major market sophistication combined with a keen understanding of Southern markets, businesses and, most of all, Southern people.
